JENA is a Heavy/Southern Metal band from Northern Italy.

The band was born in 2013 and in its first formation has debuted with the self-produced EP "JENA", followed by the first recording studio project "Womandile" in 2015, published with Go Down Records.

Thanks to the explosion of purely southern sounds and the cooperation with the label, the band was able to perform on important gigs, including the Radio Onda d'Urto Festival and the Home Festival, opening for important groups such as Suffocation, Lord's of Altamont and Elextric Moon.

Caused by personal life issues of the members, the band is in danger of extinction in 2018, but it has reborn from its ashes through the will of Guido Richini (vocals and guitar), with the addition of Erik Cimenti (guitar), Stefano Righele (bass) and Marco Gelmi (drums).

The new "JENA" brings with itself new sounds, nuances from various Southern Metal related music and influences from groups such as Down, Pantera and Metallica, which combined with long rehearsal sessions, has allowed the band to find its sound which mirrors a strong interpersonal bond and the will to create its own music: powerful, decisive and never trivial.

The band has released in collaboration with Argonauta Records "Graboid" in late 2021, the record of the rebirth, that brings JENA back to the stage and in the studio, after the change of line-up and the arrival of new influences.
On the record you can hear the whole transition, thanks to the songs drafted before, revised in the new perspective of the band, up to those completely written from scratch, from a new source and the new bond of the members.

In 2023 the band releases "Outlaw", the first mature album of the new lineup.
In "Outlaw" there is a clear change of gear, experiments that bring sounds that perhaps go beyond the genre and which testify to a new maturity of the band.

A band that gives its best LIVE, JENA have been particularly active since 2021 in Eastern Europe and Nothern Italy.

Gli JENA sono un gruppo musicale Heavy/Southern Metal originario del Nord Italia.

La band é nata nel 2013 e nella sua prima formazione ha esordito con l'omonimo EP autoprodotto “JENA”, seguito nel 2015 con il primo lavoro in studio, "Womandile", pubblicato con Go Down Records.

Grazie all’esplosione di suoni prettamente Southern e alla collaborazione con l'etichetta, la band riesce ad esibirsi su importanti palchi tra cui la Festa di Radio Onda D'urto ed l'Home Festival aprendo a gruppi importanti come Suffocation, Lord's of Altamont ed Elextric Moon.

Per questioni di vita personali di vari membri del gruppo la band rischia l'estinzione nel 2018, ma rinasce dalle sue ceneri per volontá di Guido Richini (voce e chitarra), con l'aggiunta di Erik Cimenti (chitarra), Stefano Righele (basso) e Marco Gelmi (batteria).

La nuova formazione porta con se novitá, sfumature derivanti da vari generi affini al Southern Metal e influenze da gruppi come Down, Pantera e Metallica che unite a lunghe sessioni di prova, permettono alla band di trovare il proprio sound nel quale si rispecchia un forte legame interpersonale e la volontá di creare la propria musica: potente, decisa e mai banale.

Nel 2021 la band rilascia, sotto Argonauta Records "Graboid", quello che potrebbe essere visto come il disco della rinascita, che riporta gli JENA sul palco e in studio, dopo il cambio di formazione e dell'arrivo di nuove influenze.
Nel disco si sente tutta la transizione, grazie ai pezzi abbozzati in precedenza, rivisti nella nuova ottica della band, fino a quelli completamente scritti da zero, da una sorgente nuova e una coesione in via di definizione.

Nel 2023 la band rilascia in maniera indipendente "Outlaw", il primo disco maturo della nuova formazione.
In "Outlaw" c'á un netto cambio di marcia, sperimentazioni che portano sonoritá che vanno forse oltre al genere e che testimoniano una nuova maturitá della band.

Band che da il meglio di sé LIVE, gli JENA sono particolarmente attivi dal 2021 in Europa dell'Est e nel Nord Italia.
